Quiet studio,
loud shapes.

In short —
I’m Tove, an independent designer working across identity, interface and the occasional piece of public signage. I like briefs with a little friction in them, and clients who don’t mind a few strange drafts on the way to a clear one.
Currently splitting time between a transit identity and a typeface that refuses to be finished.

I started out hand-lettering shop windows, which taught me two things: type is architecture, and nobody reads anything from across the street unless it’s brave. Ten years later I still design the same way — big decisions first, details second, and a lot of looking from far away.
Most of my work happens with small teams who need one person to hold the whole picture: the mark, the system, the screens and the signs. When a project needs more hands, I bring in a handful of trusted collaborators.
